Abstract
• In February 2022, 37 Indonesian CPI cities witnessed inflation and 53 had deflation, out of 90 total.
• The CPI in Ambon City decreased by 0.44 percent, and the CPI in Tual City decreased by 1.12 percent, both with a 109.32 CPI.
• Tanjung Selor had the lowest inflation rate, at 0.01 percent, while Kupang had the highest, at 0.65 percent and a CPI of 107.17. Tanjung Pandan experienced the largest deflation, at 2.08 percent, with a CPI of 109.20, while Palangka Raya, Tarakan, and Palembang experienced the lowest, at 0.01 percent, with CPIs of 108.50, 108.41, and 107.54, respectively.
• Of the 90 HK Cities in Indonesia, Tual City's monthly inflation in February 2022 was rated 83rd (Ambon City was 78th), Tual's annual inflation was ranked 83rd (Ambon City was 78th), and Tual City is consistently ranked 9th (Ambon City is ranked 3rd).
• The drop in a number of price indices across a number of expenditure groups resulted in deflation. With a CPI of 114.22, the food, beverage, and tobacco category experienced the greatest fall, which was 2.77 percent.
• Of the 94 different commodities and services that go through price changes, the majority are food, drinks, and tobacco. Price declines were seen across 44 different categories of goods and services, with scad/momar, mackerel/lema fish, air travel, tuna/komu fish, water spinach, baronang fish, broiled chicken eggs, cooking oil, bottled water, and songkong leaves experiencing the highest declines. These products also contributed the most to the deflation that occurred this month in Tual City.
• In the meantime, 50 different products and services saw price hikes in February 2022, with automobiles, cement enbal gepe, mustard greens, selar fish, papaya blossoms, eggplant, shampoo, instant dry noodles, and zinc seeing the biggest rises.
