◼ June 2023 Tual City experienced year on year (yoy) inflation of 5.57 percent, with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 119.29. Meanwhile, Ambon City experienced year on year (yoy) inflation of 6.10 percent with a CPI of 118.67.
◼ Of the 90 CPI cities, the city that experienced the highest yoy inflation was Ambon City at 6.10 percent with a CPI of 118.67 and the lowest yoy inflation occurred in Gungungsitoli City at 1.01 percent with a CPI of 114.79.
◼ Inflation in Tual City occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by the increase in most expenditure group indices. The increase in prices was shown by the increase in 9 expenditure groups, the highest yoy inflation in the Provision of Food, Beverages, and Recreation group at 22.22 percent and the lowest in the Education expenditure group at 0.25 percent. While 2 expenditure groups experienced deflation, namely the Health group by 1.28 percent and the Information, Communication and Financial Services Expenditure Group by 0.95 percent.
◼ Monthly inflation rate month to month (MTM) (June 2023 against May 2023) Tual City experienced inflation of 0.62 percent. While Ambon City experienced inflation of 1.10 percent.
◼ Calendar year/year to date (YTD) inflation rate (June 2023 to December 2022) Tual City experienced inflation of 3.43 percent. Meanwhile, Ambon City experienced inflation of 1.59 percent.
◼ 5 (five) commodities that contributed dominantly to the yoy inflation of Tual City in June 2023, namely: Air Transportation (1.3302%), Rice (0.6429%), Gasoline (0.6311%), Rice with side dishes (0.6095%), Filter Clove Cigarettes (0.3521%).
◼ While 5 (five) commodities that gave dominant contribution to the June 2023 mtm inflation in Tual City are: Kite Fish (0.1931%), Air Transportation (0.0835%), Cayenne Pepper (0.0591%), Tuna (0.0478%), Cucumber (0.0392%).
