◼April 2023 Tual City experienced year on year (yoy) inflation of 6.15 percent, with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 117.74 while Ambon City experienced year on year (yoy) inflation of 4.86 percent with a CPI of 116.38.
◼ Of the 90 CPI cities, the city with the highest yoy inflation was Kotabaru City, which amounted to 6.75 percent with a CPI of 121.12 and the lowest yoy inflation occurred in Pangkal Pinang City, which amounted to 2.78 percent with a CPI of 114.15.
◼ Inflation in Tual City occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by the increase in most expenditure group indices. The increase in prices was indicated by an increase in 9 expenditure groups, the highest yoy inflation in the Food and Beverage/Restaurant Provision group by 24 percent and the lowest in the Education expenditure group by 0.49 percent. While 2 expenditure groups experienced deflation, namely the Health group by 1.37 percent, and Information, Communication, and Financial Services by 0.17 percent.
◼ Monthly inflation rate/month to month (MTM) (April 2023 against March 2023) Tual City experienced inflation of 0.47 percent. While Ambon City experienced inflation of 0.29 percent.
◼ Calendar year/year to date (YTD) inflation rate (April 2023 to December 2022) Tual City experienced inflation of 2.09 percent. Meanwhile, Ambon City experienced deflation of 0.37 percent.
◼5 (five) commodities that dominantly contributed to April 2023 yoy inflation in Tual City are: Air Transportation (1.4982%), Rice with Side Dish (0.651%), Gasoline (0.6482%), Rice (0.5215%), Filter Clove Cigarettes (0.3594).
◼While 5 (five) commodities that dominantly contributed to April 2023 mtm inflation in Tual City are: Tuna (0.1734%), Air Transportation (0.1467%), Rice (0.1233%), Rice with Side Dish (0.1019%), Mackerel (0.0819%).
