◼ March 2023 Tual City experienced year on year (yoy) inflation of 7.49 percent, with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 117.19 while Ambon City experienced year on year (yoy) inflation of 5.3 percent with a CPI of 116.04.
◼ Of the 90 CPI cities, the city with the highest yoy inflation was Tual City, which amounted to 7.49 percent with a CPI of 117.19 and the lowest yoy inflation occurred in Merauke city, which amounted to 3.17 percent with a CPI of 112.59.
◼ Inflation in Tual City occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by the increase in most expenditure group indices. The increase in prices was indicated by an increase in 9 expenditure groups, the highest yoy inflation in the Transportation group by 25.42 percent and the lowest in the Education expenditure group by 0.49 percent. ◼ Calendar year/year to date (YTD) inflation rate (December 2022 to March 2023) Tual City experienced inflation of 1.61 percent. Meanwhile, Ambon City experienced deflation of 0.66 percent.
◼ 5 (five) commodities that dominantly contributed to the yoy inflation in March 2023 in Tual City are: Air Transportation (1.803%), Gasoline (0.6195%), Rice with Side Dish (0.5527%) Filter Clove Cigarettes (0.4451), Rice (0.3981%).
